PRINCE2

PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments version 2) is a process-based method for effective project management. PRINCE2 is widely recognised as a world-class international product and is the standard method for project management for many Government departments and private sector organisations around the world.

The key features of PRINCE2 are:

  • Its focus on business justification
  • A defined organisation structure for the project management team
  • Its product-based planning approach
  • Its emphasis on dividing the project into manageable and controllable stages
  • Its flexibility to be applied at a level appropriate to the project.

MSP

Managing Successful Programs (MSP) represents proven programme management good practice in successfully delivering transformational change. The method is in the public domain, drawn from the experiences of both public and private sector organisations and provides:

  • An adaptable route map for programme management, bringing together key principles, Governance Themes and a set of interrelated processes to facilitate the flow of business transformation
  • Advice on how these programme management principles, themes and flow can be embedded, reviewed and applied to gain measurable benefits from business change.

Related Training

Aravena Global Solutions, in addition to its PRINCE2 and MSP courses, offers a range of associated Project Management course/workshops that are focussed on different outcomes.

The purpose of these workshops is develop skills and knowledge in various areas of project management such as product based planning, scheduling, estimating, quality planning, scope definition.

Coaching teams in special skills enhances the training they have received and ensures that all the detail of the various processes is brought to bear on the subject project.

Some of these services are provide in conjunction with our partnering organisations. 

Examples of such training include:

  • WS 101 Planning and Controlling (using Microsoft Project)

    The Planning and Controlling (using Microsoft Project) workshop seeks to provide students with a method for planning projects using the software. Provided in partnership with Eastwood Harris these courses can be delivered in a number of guises ranging from 1 or 2 day course designed to explain the basic and intermediate functions of using Microsoft Project covering a majority of the functions that are available, through to intimate 1-on-1 training for project schedulers.
  • WS 102 Estimating
  • WS 103 Product Based Planning
  • WS 104 Risk Management for Project Managers

    The objective of the course is to provide delegates with the ability to manage risk within a project in order to avoid adverse effects on project outcomes.  It addresses Risk Management within projects utilising the AS/NZ 4360 Risk Management standard and its application within projects.  It is aimed at the project manager who usually performs the risk management function and the staff involved in Risk Management activities.

The duration of the course can be varied for 1 or 2 days depending on the client needs.

  • RTO certification - Through our association with Transformed Pty Ltd, those delegates that complete either the Foundation or Practitioner PRINCE2 certifications are able to apply, and provide sufficient evidence, for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) of either a Certificate IV or Diploma of Project Management.

The Certificate IV in Project Management is a competency-based award at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 4. Competencies at the Certificate IV level describe the capabilities of a project team member who usually works with other team members under the direction of a project manager.

The Diploma of Project Management is a competency-based award at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5.  Competencies at the Diploma level describe the capabilities of a project manager who plans and directs the work of team members.

To gain the respective award, delegates must demonstrate they have achieved the standards described in the relevant units of competency.  Nine units from the National Competency Standards for Project Management are required for the award.
